The New York Boulders season came to a prompt and disappointing end in the one game wild card playoff against the visiting Ottawa Titans, losing by a final of 8 to 2. After winning a whopping 12 games in a row to finish the season and clinch home-field for the one-game play-off the team fell behind early, 2-0 in the first and 6-0 by the fourth.

While the Boulders, a team with the most runs and most hits in the league managed only 4 hits tonight while going 1-6 with runners in scoring position. Ray Hernandez got the Boulders on the board with a 2 run shot in the 8th inning but it wasn’t near enough to overcome the deficit.

For the team, it was a return to the playoffs after missing last year which is something the club can build off of for next year. For Ottawa, they fly back home to host their home game in the three game set Friday through Sunday against Quebec.

After this end, May 2023 and the new season probably can’t come soon enough for the Boulders. Better growth next year.
