Washington Mystics have impressive showing in victory over Minnesota, 70-57

The Washington Mystics (16-11) had themselves a stellar defensive showing, as they were able to defeat the Minnesota Lynx (10-17) by a final score of 70-57 in WNBA action on Sunday.

With the victory the Mystics were able to sweep the season series over the Lynx 3-0, and have now been able to sweep Minnesota two times over the past four seasons.

The ladies led in a ton of categories, as they were able to outscore the Lynx by a final of 32-28, and were able to out-assist by a final tally of 21-14.

Helping to lead the way for the Mystics was Elena Delle Donne, who had a game-high 21 points, while also grabbing a team-best 10 rebounds-which is her third double-double of the season.

Guard Ariel Atkins had herself a great showing with her 15 points, thus far Atkins has been playing stellar as she has now scored in double figures in the last 25 of her 27 appearances.

Shakira Austin, who is having a stellar first year in a Mystics uniform had seven rebounds, while also grabbing 5+ rebounds in 20 total games this season. Austin has now passed Shalonda Ennis for the third-most by a Mystics rookie in franchise history.

Natasha Cloud continues to spark the offense with some beautiful passing, as she was able to get a team-high eight assists. Rounding out the contributors for the Mystics was Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, who had 11 points.

Up next for the Washington Mystics they will have a chance to host the New York Liberty on July 21 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena with the tip off set for 11:30 a.m.
