Ball Movement helps New York Liberty in 81-77 victory over Connecticut

One of the keys for the New York Liberty (7-10) if they hope to continue to compete in the 2022 WNBA Season is that of ball movement. When the ladies move the ball around and find that open player they are a tough team to beat.

The Liberty had regained that ball movement philosophy in their 81-77 victory over the Connecticut Sun (12-6) in WNBA action on 6/22.

Prior to the game the team had learned that Guard Sabrina Ionescu was selected to start in the AT&T 2022 WNBA All-Star game that is to be held on Sunday, July 10 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago Illinois.

Ionescu will start in her debut WNBA All-Star Appearance after averaging 16.7 points, 6.1 assists and 6.4 rebounds with the team. The Guard  was one of five Liberty players that scored in double figures to lead the Liberty in their victory over Connecticut.

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following audio interview that features thoughts from Ionescu on her All-Star Selection:

In her return to the Connecticut area after an amazing Collegiate career with the University of Connecticut, Stefanie Dolson was able to finish with a team-high 16 points on 77.8 shooting from the floor. Dolson also had six rebounds, four assists and a block in the game.

Sami Whitcomb came off the bench and contributed with 14 points, four assists and three rebounds. Natasha Howard also had 14 points, four assists, three rebounds and two blocks for the team.

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following New York Liberty Post Game Press Conference from 6/22/22. Featuring thoughts from Head Coach Sandy Brondello along with Stef Dolson and Sami Whitcomb:

But the main theme for the Liberty was to move the ball around so that they were able to find the open player and the team did just that.

The Liberty hope to continue that trend of wonderful passing if they hope to find more success during the 2022 WNBA Season, which continues for the ladies on the road in Atlanta to take on the Dream on Friday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m.
