New York Liberty unable to weather the Storm in 81-72 loss

In a close WNBA battle at the Barclays Center the New York Liberty was unable to weather the Seattle Storm, as the ladies lost by a score of 81-72. 

New York had themselves a 40% (30-75) shooting night from the field, while also going 37% from the three-point arc. There were four players who had double figure scoring for the team as Marine Johannes, Sabrina Ionescu, Sami Whitcomb and Natasha Howard all led the way in scoring.

Joannes was able to figure in double figures for the second time in five appearances for the Liberty, finishing the night with 23 points. Ionescu had 12 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and two steals as she was close to having her third-career triple-double.

Whitcome had 11 points, which included going 33.3% from the three point arc, to round out all the scoring Natasha Howard had 11 points and a season-high 11 rebounds, which was her second double-double of the season.

The Liberty hope to get back to their winning ways on Wednesday, June 22 when they travel to Connecticut for a game that is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
