Tons of history was celebrated on June 19, as the Washington Mystics held their 25th Anniversary Celebration. It was on the same day in 1998 that the team was able to host their very first home game.
Flash forward 25 years later, featuring memories of playoff appearances and championship celebrations, the team recognized those who built the foundation for the franchise they have today by inducting their first Hall of Fame class with franchise legends Vicky Bullett, Chamique Holdsclaw and Murriel Page in a halftime ceremony.
1495 Sports is proud to bring the following video that features the Washington Mystics First Hall of Fame Class Vicky Bullett, Chamique Holdsclaw and Murriel Page:
The ladies were able to celebrate in style by earning a 71-63 victory over the Connecticut Sun, as they were able to snap a five-game losing streak. It was a great defensive performance by the Mystics who were able to hold Connecticut to 63 points scored.
1495 Sports is also proud to bring the following Washington Mystics Post Game Press Conference from 6/19/2022. Featuring thoughts from General Manager and Head Coach Mike Thibault, Elena Delle-Donne, Ariel Atkins and Elizabeth Williams:
The Batman and Robin duo of Elena Delle Donne and Natasha Cloud helped to lead the way for the Mystics in scoring. After being away from the team for a bit Elena Delle Donne had a team-high 15 points, that featured a 6-of-12 shooting night. Natasha Cloud, meanwhile continues to dish out some amazing assists as she had a five dime night.
Washington also saw Shakira Austin have a team-high eight rebounds, while Shatori Walker-Kimbrough had 10 points.
Up next the Mystics will head to California to take on the Los Angeles Sparks in a game that is set for June 21 at 10:30 p.m.
