New York City FC and Sporting KC end in Draw

It was a Rainy Day at Citi FIeld in Queens, New York but fans filled up the venue to see New York City FC take on Sporting KC.

The visiting side got an early opportunity when Daniel Salloi launched a ball that was saved by NYCFC keeper Sean Johnson. The match progressed back and forth with the guys playing in some heavy rains and wet conditions.

NYCFC had their first quality chance in the 34th minute when Keaton Parks was able to find Santiago Rodriguez on the right, but that opportunity was denied by Sporting KC keeper Tim Melia.

Sporting KC had themselves a wonderful opportunity when Johnny Russel found Salloi at the near post. That opportunity was turned away by Johnson.

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following video look from the New York City FC vs Sporting KC match produced, filmed and edited by journalist Daniel Stewart:

The Boys in Blue trying to earn three points saw Maxi Moralez come into the match in the Second Half, as Head Coach Ronny Delia changed his offensive scheme. Talles Magno sizzled for a great opportunity in the 66th minute, but that chance was denied.

New York City FC saw the return of Maxime Chanot, who almost made an instant impact after combining from a Moralez corner, but that shot just went wide.

Both teams had battled till the end, but sadly neither were able to find the back of the cage and New York City FC wound up with a point against Sporting KC.

Up next for New York City FC will be a US Open Cup match against Rochester. The Two teams will play at Belson Stadium on the campus of St. John’s University in Queens with the match set for 7:00 p.m.
