St. John’s Kadaja Bailey Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

St. John’s guard Kadaja Bailey has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced on Monday

Bailey averaged 16.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists in 2-1 week for the Johnnies. The Long Beach, N.Y., native recorded three straight double-digit scoring games, including 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting at Xavier on Sunday. Against Villanova, the senior tallied a team-high 18 points and racked up a pair of steals. Bailey began the week with an 11-point effort against Xavier that helped Head Coach Joe Tartamella secure his record-setting 177th victory.

On the season, Bailey is second on the team averaging 15.4 points and 3.1 assists. The senior also ranks sixth in the league in scoring. In conference games alone, Bailey ranks second in 3-point percentage (48.6) while her 16.2 points put her in seventh place among the conference leaders.

Up next, Bailey and the Johnnies will face off against Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Wednesday. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
