Washington Mystics Re-Sign Shatori Walker-Kimbrough

The Washington Mystics announced today that they have re-signed free-agent guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.

Walker-Kimbrough (5’9, 140) returned to the Mystics last season following appearances with Phoenix and Connecticut. In 118 career games (33 starts) she holds averages of 5.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per game.

“We look forward to the continued growth of Shatori’s game that she displayed upon her return to the Mystics last season. In addition, she has had an outstanding season in Israel this winter,” stated Head Coach Mike Thibault “She can be an integral part of our success because she has become a big contributor at both ends of the floor. I think she will play a key role this season. It’s great to have her back!”

The fifth-year pro appeared in 16 games (13 starts) for Washington last season after signing with the team on July 1, 2021, averaging 7.4 points on 51.3 percent shooting, 1.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 21.6 minutes per game. Walker-Kimbrough, 26, was a member of the 2019 Mystics Championship Team.

“I’m excited to be back playing in front of the best fans in the W alongside some of the great players here as well,” said Walker-Kimbrough. “Coach T is the winningest coach in the WNBA for a reason and I’m honored to get the opportunity to play for him.”

The Maryland product was originally selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft by Washington.

The 2022 WNBA season marks the 25th Anniversary for the Washington Mystics. Chartered in 1997, the Mystics are one of the first WNBA expansion franchises to be established and the longest tenured women’s professional sports team in Washington, D.C.
