The Baltimore Orioles (17-30) have been putting a great product on the field, playing some great baseball. Sadly, the team just has not been able to get the results that they have been hoping for.
Baltimore, who lost all their games against the Washington Nationals, also dropped the first game they had against the Minnesota Twins by a final of 8-3 in MLB action on Monday night.
On the mound for the Orioles on Monday night was John Means, who has been the ace for the team with some amazing performances. Things were no different on Monday night, as the starter went seven strong innings, sitting down five batters and only giving up two runs.
It was just the Baltimore bullpen that could not come through, as the relief corps could not hold on to the lead that was given to them.
Baltimore started the game on Monday on a great note as Anthony Santander doubled on a fly ball to center field, plating the first run of the game. Minnesota responded back in the Bottom of the Third and Sixth thanks to homers by Trevor Larnach and Kyle Garlick who both homered, which gave the Twins a 2-1 lead at the time.
D.J. Stewart responded with a homer of his own for the O’s in the Top of the Eighth Inning, before the Twins offense opened the game and gave them the eventual lead.
From there the Minnesota Pen kept the Baltimore Bats off the board and continued the team’s frustrations on the road.
