Baltimore Orioles look to regain winning ways

The Baltimore Orioles (17-26) have been playing some solid baseball for the month of May, seeing some huge wins and losses along the way.

Baltimore who has had a three-game set against the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays will look to regain their winning ways as the month of May winds down.

In the team’s most recent action against the Yankees, the O’s had losing decisions of 5-4, and 8-2 before the bats broke out in the 10-6 decision on Sunday, May 16.

Leading the way in the victory on Sunday was Ryan Mountcastle, Pedro Severino, Maikel Franco and Freddy Galvis.

The team had a three-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays where the guys saw a 13-6 loss, a 9-7 loss and a 10-1 loss.

One of the main trends for the O’s in seeing some losing results has been the pitching, as the team has allowed 83 runs and 23 homers during this stretch.

Now the O’s will head south on the beltway for a three-game set against the Washington Nationals.

It will be a gem of a pitching performance for anyone who will be able to attend the game at Nationals Park tonight (Friday) as Jorge Lopez takes on the returning Stephen Strasburg for the Nationals.

Lopez has pitched solidly for the Orioles, but was hit hard in his last outing, as he allowed five runs in two innings against the Yankees on Saturday. As for Strasburg, this will be the first time in over a month he will be able to make a start for the Nationals.

The game between the O’s and Nationals is set for 7:05 p.m. with fans wanting to watch the action can do so on the MASN Networks.
