Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins win thriller over Binghamton, 3-2

With the game tied at two and seconds left on the clock, it was Jordy Bellerive that was able to tally the game-winner for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in AHL action against the Binghamton Devils on Wednesday.

Thanks to the victory the Penguins were able to improve their record to 6-7-3-1 on the season. In what was an action-packed game between these two teams.

It was Binghamton that was able to record the first goal. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton had the momentum though, outshooting the Devils by a 15-7 mark, as it was Jan Drozg that notched the first goal for the Penguins with 3:30 left before intermission.

The Penguins were able to take the lead thanks to a goal by Nick Schilkey at the 12:12 mark of the Second Period. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton ripped a ton of shots in front of the Devils net, but were denied by the Penguins. As these two rivals eventually the teams skated into the Overtime frame.

It was Bellerive that was able to lift his team to victory, going coast-to-coast for the game-winning goal.

Binghamton got themselves back into the game with a goal by Nolan Foote with 1:39 left in regulation time, and for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins is a game against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Saturday, April 3. The action will start at 7:05 p.m. at the PPL Center.
