The Buffalo Sabres had a ton of momentum going for them until the Third Period of play, when the Boston Bruins took over and earned a 3-2 victory in NHL action on Saturday night.
Positive news for the Sabres as Linus Ullmark and Kyle Okposo made their return to the team and made a positive impact. Ullmark, was able to make his first start in the cage since a lower-body injury that happened in February had him out for 15 games. Ullmark looked great making 33 saves in the game.
Okposo also impressed as he and Sam Reinhart were able to record goals for the Sabres. Okposo, who has been recovering from an upper-body injury has been able to tally a goal in back-to-back games.
The other bit of good news is the fact that the Sabres have been able to notch their first power-play goal in 16 games, which snapped a 0-for-28 slump.
It was the Bruins and their ability to turn up the intensity and the goal scoring in the Third Period, which really got them the victory. Matt Grzelcyk, Nick Ritchie, and Craig Smith all led the way on the offense. Dan Vladar was stellar in the cage making 25 saves.
Up next for the Sabres they will host the Philadelphia Flyers in game that will be played on Monday and Wednesday. The game on Monday is set for 7:00 p.m.
