Bridgeport earns nail-biting 3-2 victory over Providence

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers earned a 3-2 nail biter over the Providence Bruins in AHL action on Thursday Night.

Arnaud Durandeau was able to record the game-winner, in what was a thriller at the New England Sports Center.

Bridgeport trailed entering the third period but were able to find the back of the cage late to be able to earn a victory over the Bruins for the third time this season.

Providence was able to find the back of the cage first thanks to a goal by Brady Lyle, who was able to record his second goal.

The Sound Tigers battle back as Tanner Fritz tied things up on a shorthanded opportunity. Joona Koppanen was able to celebrate his birthday in style with a goal for Providence.

Bridgeport kept scraping away though as Simon Holmstrom tie things up with 8:21 into the third period.

Durandeau was able to net the game-winner at the 15:26 mark of the third period, which was the first of the season.

The Sound Tigers played well on the power play going 2-for-5 and were able to stop 5 of the Bruins power play opportunities.

Playing well in the cage for the Sound Tigers was C.J. Motte was able to make 23 saves.

The Sound Tigers will next be in action next Thursday for a 1:00 p.m. rematch against the Providence Bruins at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Mass.
