Buffalo Sabres making an impact in the Community with RISE

The Buffalo Sabres announced the team will make an impact in the community beyond their play on the ice by being able to Diversity Foundations for High School programs to local schools. The Team is staring a partnership with national nonprofit RISE and EVERFI, which is made available free of charge to all high schools in Western, New York.

Diversity Foundations for High School introduces students to concepts of identity, bias, power, privilege and oppression while establishing the importance of ally behavior and other empowering topics.

The content is delivered though online lessons, which are suitable for students grades nine through 12. These lessons are also designed to be incorporated into curriculums in advisory

The EVERFI courses includes resources from RISE, which is a nonprofit which educated and empowers the sports community to be the future leads for their community.

Enrollment is now open, and educators can visit everfi.com/k-12/teachers to sign up free of charge. More information is available at risetowin.org.
