Washington Capitals looks to continue successful play in homestand against Buffalo Sabres

On Tuesday night the Washington Capitals were able to change their fortune and find a winning result against the Pittsburgh Penguins, earning a 3-1 victory.

Now the team will look to continue that momentum when they host a five game homestand on Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Capitals have done well on long homestands, as they hold a 4-1-1 record in a six-game homestand that they participated in earlier in the season.

Washington was able to figure out how to lock down the Pittsburgh offense, which was key to the team being able to earn the victory on Tuesday. After going through some struggles, the team believe that they can build on the momentum from the game that was played against the Penguins.

The Sabres have been through their own struggles, but have been able to get back on the ice. Now it is Buffalo’s turn to try to figure out what they need to do to get back on their winning ways after losses to the New York Islanders.

In the team’s last meeting the Sabres were able to defeat the Capitals by a score of 4-3, in a thrilling shootout game. Buffalo holds a 3-5-2 mark in the last 10 games against the Capitals, while also having a 1-6-3 record on the road.

The game between the Capitals and Sabres is set for 7:00 p.m. with fans wanting to watch the game, can do so by checking out the NBCS network.
