The Bridgeport Sound Tigers got to skate on the Webster Bank Arena ice for the first time during the 2021 season but found a losing effort to the Providence Bruins by a final of 5-3.
Bobo Carpenter got the Sound Tigers on the board first at the 2:38 mark of the First Period. The goal for Carpenter was the second goal in as many games this season against the Bruins.
Providence tied things quickly thanks to a goal by Cooper Zech, who was able to find the back of the cage thanks to a power-play goal at the 11:40 mark of the first period.
Bridgeport responded with a goal thanks to Cole Bardreau in the second period of play.
There was a ton of back-and-forth action before Kyle MacLean was able to record his first professional goal for Bridgeport, which was able to give his team the brief lead.
It was in the third period where Providence was able to have scoring contributions from Jauko Lauko, Cameron Hughes and Joona Koppanen, which lifted the visiting side to the victory.
The Sound Tigers will look to record their first victory at Webster Bank Arena, it will be a tough test as they will take on the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday, with the action set for 1:00 p.m.
