Due to COVID-19, the CAA has announced changes to the conference schedule format for the 2020-21 season to limit travel. In lieu of a traditional, home-and-home round robin schedule, teams will play against the same opponent at the same site on consecutive days, primarily Saturdays and Sundays. The only exception will come when teams face their designated travel partner.
Hofstra is 4-3 this season following a stirring 76-71 win over #23 Richmond this past Tuesday. The Pride enters conference play having won three of its last four games. Senior Jalen Ray leads the way in scoring at 19 points per game, while fellow senior Tareq Coburn is second at 18.1 points per outing and junior Isaac Kante is third in scoring with 13.3 points and leads the way with 10.7 rebounds per contest.
William & Mary brings a 2-3 record into the weekend. The Tribe has dropped its last two games, to High Point and #16 Virginia. Three players average in double figures for William & Mary with Luke Loewe leading the way at 15.6 points per game. Quinn Blair leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game and is averaging 9.2 points per outing.
One of the more entertaining rivalries in the CAA since the Pride joined the league in 2001, Hofstra and William & Mary have met 37 times entering this weekend’s series with the Pride holding a 23-14 advantage in the series. Hofstra has won four of the last five meetings.
