All the Washington Capitals were trying to do was focus on one game, one win and take the rest of this best-of-seven series with thew New York Islanders from there. Well they have been able to do that with the 3-2 overtime victory on Tuesday night.
Caps Captain Alexander Ovechkin was recorded two goals and Evgeny Kuznetsov added another to keep the playoff hopes alive. The game had a bit of everything including some earth shattering hits, some amazing blocked shots and some missed opportunities that maybe remembered for future games.
Ovechkin now has 69 career playoff goals, which ranks him 18th all-time, which is ahead of Sidney Crosby and Gordie Howe. Having a stellar night in the cage for Washington was Keeper Braden Holtby who made 24 saves in the game.
There have been only four teams that have ever managed to win four straight after dropping the first three games of a Stanley Cup Playoff series. If the Capitals can somehow stay focus, cash in on their opportunities and not make too many mistakes on their end -one never know what the result will be.
The Capitals and the Islanders continue on Thursday with the action on the ice to be determined.
