The last two games have been tough for the Baltimore Orioles (5-5) as they dropped a 4-0 game on Tuesday night and a 1-0 game on Wednesday night against the Miami Marlins ( 5-1) in Major League Baseball play at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
In the game on Tuesday night Miami was led by Pitcher Pablo López, who was able to toss five shutout innings to cool off the hot Orioles bats. On the offensive side of the plate for the Marlins Francisco Cervelli and Jesús Aguilar both were able to record some really impressive home runs that helped to lift the team to victory.
Pitching was again the key for the Marlins as Elieser Hernandez, really kept the Baltimore batters of balance, working 4 1/3 hitless innings, that combined with a home run by Brian Anderson was enough to secure the second victory.
The Marlins were able to keep the Orioles scoreless for the first 16 innings, and this was a team that had some really hot bats going into the series against the Marlins to begin with. That is just baseball though some day pitching will dominate and other days hitting will dominate.
Baltimore will now refocus and try to reignite their bats in the finale against the Marlins set tomorrow (Thursday, August, 6) in a game time that is set for 7:35 p.m.
Prior to the game against the Marlins, Baltimore placed lefty John Means on the team’s bereavement list following his second start of the season. Means left the team to be able to attend to a family matter, and it is possible that he will miss his next scheduled start with the team.
Some of the Orioles Prospects were represented in the MLB Pipeline Top 100 list, as four who have been signed in the off season were able to make the list.
Here are the prospects that have made the list
No. 4: Adley Rutschman
No. 40: Grayson Rodriguez
No. 68: Heston Kjerstad
No. 77: DL Hall
