Elon is 6-16 overall and 2-7 in conference action. The Phoenix is coming off a solid 82-73 home win over James Madison on Saturday as Marcus Sheffield II poured in 31 points and added nine rebounds.

Sheffield is Elon’s top scorer averaging 16.9 points per game, while Hunter Woods (10.5) and Hunter McIntosh (10.3) also average in double figures. Woods is tops on the team with 6.7 rebounds per game, while McIntosh averages a team-best 3.0 assists per outing.

Hofstra is 9-3 all-time against Elon in a series that began during the 2009-10 campaign. The first meeting, a 70-46 Pride win, occurred in the NIT Season Tip-Off. Hofstra has won four straight in the series, including both meetings a season ago. In the first meeting between the teams this season, the Pride earned a 102-75 win over the Phoenix as Buie scored a career-high 44 points.
