Nailbiter for Miami in 78-77 victory over Temple

It was a nailbiter for the final game of the Air Force Reserve Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational that saw Miami defeat Temple by a final score of 78-77 at the Barclays Center.

For Miami they were able to have four players in double figures with Chris Lykes leading the way with 17 points, including two clutch free throws with 4.4 seconds left to seal the victory for the Hurricanes. Kameron McGusty followed with 12 points, and to round out the scoring DJ Vasiljevic and Rodney Miller both had 11 points each.

There was a milestone moment for Miami and for Vasiljevic, as the Senior Guard recorded his 1,000 career point during the course of the game.

Temple had the game in hand and really battled it out with Miami, but they just were not able to close things out and secure the victory on this night.

Leading the way on the offensive side for the Owls was Quinton Rose who had 14 points and Alani Moore II followed with 12 points in the game. A player to watch for on the Temple team will be Nate Pierre-Louis, who had himself some highlight style plays in recording Nine Points for the Owls.
