The New York Mets and partner Konica Minolta, the Official Copier of the New York Mets, will honor local veterans from the Blue Angels Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project with a pregame ceremony on Thursday, September 27.
The Mets and Konica Minolta have been partners since 2015 and are pleased to come together to honor those who have served this country. Konica Minolta is also a partner of the Blue Angels Foundation and has worked with the organization and the Wounded Warrior Project to unite over 100 local warriors and former and current veterans for an evening at Citi Field.
The Blue Angels Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project are organizations devoted to supporting and providing necessary services and support to wounded veterans, including PTSD research and treatment, transitional support and resources and rehabilitative services. As partners with the Blue Angels Foundation, Konica Minolta is title sponsor of their annual golf and tennis classic, which raised over $1.2 million for wounded veterans in 2017. The Mets game on September 27 will serve as a kick-off event to this year’s fundraising efforts.
The Mets and Konica Minolta will honor these local heroes with a salute on the field at 6:30PM and will then host them for the game in the Honda Clubhouse.
SGT. Christopher Moran, who served with the 25th Infantry from 2009 to 2010, will throw the early first pitch. Catching for him will be Staff SGT. Franklin Moreno, who served with the 329th Chemical Company from 1985 to 2012.
