Brooklyn Cyclones Wrap-Up July 2

The Brooklyn Cyclones continue to play very well, sitting in Second Place in the New York -Penn League Standings with a 10-6 overall record.

Brooklyn saw two thrilling victories over the Lowell Spinners in a three game series, and a 13-7 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters on June 29. They are currently in a three game series in the Battle of the Bridge against the Staten Island Yankees, in which the Baby Bombers took the first game by a final score of 3-1.

Here are some of the key offensive contributors for the Cyclones:

Chase Chambers and Ross Adolph both recorded RBI’s

Kendall Coleman had a two-out run scoring single to give the Cyclones a walk-off victory vs Lowell

Chase Chambers went 3-6, driving in a pair of runs in Game 1 vs Vermont

Manny Rodriguez tallied a career-high three hits in Game 2

Jose Brizuelo had a run-scoring double in the finale against Vermont

Angel Manzanarez and Wagner Lagrange both recorded hits in the opening game versus Staten Island on July 1

Game Two between Brooklyn and Staten Island tonight (Monday) 7:00 p.m.

Starters for the game are projected to be RHP Christian James (1-0, 1.13 ERA) for Brooklyn vs. RHP Juan De Paula (0-0, 0.93 ERA) for Staten Island.

The Cyclones will next be at MCU Park on July 3 for the Finale against Staten Island, before hosting the Aberdeen IronBirds starting on July 4.
