Brooklyn Cyclones Wrap-up June 25

The Brooklyn Cyclones currently sit in First place in the New York-Penn League Standings as of June 25. Recording an amazing 6-1 record at MCU Park taking two of three from the Hudson Valley Renegades, before going on the road to sweep the Connecticut Tigers.

Currently the Cyclones are at MCU Park for a three game set against the Lowell Spinners, in which they won the first game by a final score of 1-0.

Chase Chambers has put up some impressive numbers so far for Brooklyn, in his last at-bat he went 3-5, recording a double and an RBI. Jose Brizuela has been one to watch recording multiple homers and RBI games for the Cyclones. Dionis Paulino has recorded a double, Kevin Hall had two doubles and an RB; and Angel Manzanares had a 3-4 day with a double and 2RBIs to round out some of the offensive contributors for the Cyclones.

In the first game against the Lowell Spinners Pitcher Jaison Vilera struck out seven batters over six innings of scoreless baseball, yielding two hits. Vilera escaped troubled in the sixth, stranding the tying runner at third base to hold Brooklyn’s 1-0 lead.

Leading the way on the offense was Wagner Lagrange, who banged a double to left center field in the third inning that helped lift the team to the victory.

Brooklyn was able to extend its winning streak to four games for the second time this season, while the pitchers stranded runners in scoring position three of the final four innings.

Game Two between the Cyclones and Spinners will take place at 7:00 p.m. at MCU Park. The probable pitchers in the game are RHP Kyle Wilson (0-0, 7.36 ERA) vs. RHP Eduardo Bazardo (0-2, 6.00 ERA).
