Character was the word NYCFC Head Coach Patirck Viera used after the club’s 3-1 victory over Minnesota United FC, and that was exactly what was shown was Character.

The Boys in Blue have now been able to win Four Games in a row, while also recording three straight comeback victories at Yankee Stadium. New York City FC have  been training hard, and the results have shown in the last few matches.

Alexander Callens was able to help NYCFC tie the match at 1 during the 37′ mark, on a pretty passing play from Ben Sweat.

New York City FC gained the lead at the 57′ mark as Jack Harrison put in a beauty of a header for the 2-1 lead. Capping off the night on the offensive side was Captain David Villa, who recorded the third goal at the 62′ mark.

Returning to the pitch for NYCFC was Andrea Pirlo with 15 minutes remaining. Also a positive side for the Boys in Blue was the play of Eirik Johansen, who was able to get back into the goalkeeping groove.

Notes:

NYCFC return to action next Wednesday night when they travel to Vancouver to take on the Whitecaps. The next home game is on July 19th as they play host to Toronto FC.
