New York City FC have had a hard time against Toronto FC, July 19 almost was different, it was a goal during stoppage time for the visiting side though that resulted in a tough 2-2 result for the boys in blue.
Toronto FC tallied the first goal at the 11′ mark as Ashtone Morgan put in a cross to the back of the post for the early advantage. Searching for a goal is something that is a familiar feeling for New York City FC, as they have looked for the equalizer in the past.
Once again the team found a response at the 45′ minute as Captain David Villa recorded his 13th goal of the season. The energy around not only the team, but also Yankee Stadium was a positive one as the team headed into the locker at the half.
NYCFC were able to take the lead as Maxi Moralez on a beautiful combination play with Villa, in his return to the starting XI.
It had seemed as if the home side was going to finally get a victory over Toronto FC, when a Victor Vazquez penalty kick gave Toronto FC a earned point, and the 2-2 result.
New York City FC will have little time to forget the result from this match, as they will host the Chicago Fire at Yankee Stadium, with the action starting at 2:00 pm.
