The Magical 2016 New York City FC Season came to a close in the second leg of the Eastern Conference semifinals, via a 5-0 loss to Toronto FC. Leading the way for Toronto FC was Sebastian Giovinco, who had three goals and an assist.
The visitors also saw scoring from Jozy Altidore and Jonathan Osorio. Toronto FC wins the two-legged aggregate series 7-0 and advances to face the Montreal Impact in the Eastern Conference finals.
New York had one of their best chances come off the boot of Frank Lampard in the 38th Minute, but the shot was saved by keeper Clint Irwin. Tony Taylor came in and provided some great oppotunities for the club as a sub in the 56th minute.
For New York City FC, this is a season that many fans will never forget as the boys in blue had an opportunity first-ever MLS Cup playoff game at Yankee Stadium.
