The St. John’s Women’s Basketball team (9-2) finished the non-conference schedule with a 73-54 victory over Fairfield (4-6) in NCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball action at Carnesecca Arena.
Leading the way for the Red Storm was Senior Aliyyah Handford, who had 22 points having connected on 10 of her 13 shots attempts from the field.
To round out the scoring for St. John’s Danaejah Grant added 16 points, while Jade Walker finished the game with 13 points.
The Red Storm will open BIG EAST play on the road, traveling to Omaha, Neb., for a matchup against Creighton on Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. The next home game will be on January 3 versus DePaul University at 5 p.m.
