On ‘Saved by the Bell’ Night the fans at MCU Park were sent to the best type of detention, as the Brooklyn Cyclones needed 12 innings to earn a 2-1 thrilling victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats.

Tri-City had the early 1-0 lead, cashing in on a Brooklyn error in the Top of the Third Inning.

The Cardiac Cyclones did not go down without a fight as in front of 7,876 at MCU Park this team was able to grind out a victory.

Vinny Siena recorded an  RBI single to right field in the Bottom of the Sixth Inning to get the Cyclones tied at 1 . Siena has impressed with both the bat and the glove for Brooklyn, the infielder also made an impressive stop during the course of the game.

It was in the bottom of the 12th that Jeff Diehl smashed an opposite field walk-off to send the fans in attendance home happy.

The Cyclones got a huge lift from the bullpen on this night, as  Carlos Valdez (1-0) tossed a scoreless 11th and 12th to go along with three strikeouts. Craig Missigman also had three strikeouts, while Alex Palsha had two to round out the impressive performances.

With the victory the Cyclones were able to take two out of three games against the ValleyCats.

For Brooklyn the six-game homestand continues on Thursday as they welcome the Connecticut Tigers to MCU Park. For the Cyclones Tyler Badamo makes his second start against Spencer Watkins.

The action between the Cyclones and Tigers is set to start at 7:00 pm, but fans are encouraged to get to the Park early for Jersday Thursday as the first 3,000 fans will receive a replica of the Original Road Jersey.
