The New York Lizards (4-0) and the Boston Cannons (1-2) battled in an intense lacrosse game during Week Four of the Major League Lacrosse season, the Lizards won a thriller by a final of 15-14.
It was a huge test and victory for this team, who was missing face-off specialist Greg Gurenlian and defensive player Kyle Hartzel both were recovering from injuries.
New York is expected to see the return of Gurenlian for the finale of the home-and-home series with the Cannons.
This longtime rivalry will come to Shuart Stadium on May 8 as New York looks to continue to stay at the top of the Major League Lacrosse action.
Rising to the occasion in the Week 4 victory over Boston was former Cannon Paul Rabil, who earned his second consecutive Coca-Cola Player of the Game Award along with the Major League Lacrosse Warrior Offensive Player of the Week Award.
Rabil finished the game against the Cannons with three goals, two of those goals were two-point opportunities and also had 7 points. The midfielder also had 7 points, while also surpassing his 150 assist milestone and now stands at 151.
Mike Stone and Matt Poskay, both former Boston Cannons player, had big nights in their return to their former stomping grounds. Sunday was the first time they each had played against their former team since the off-season trade that brought them to New York.

The Quest to 100 Wins
Following last week’s win against Boston, the New York Lizards hold 95 regular season wins throughout their 15-year history. Five more wins this season will break the 100-win milestone. The Chesapeake Bayhawks are the only team in the MLL to have accomplished this feat thus far in MLL history.
Career Milestones
Paul Rabil is set to break several career milestones this season. This past Sunday, in his first game against the Boston Cannons since being traded in the off-season, Rabil reached, and then passed, his 150 assists milestone. He now has a total of 151 all-time regular and post-season assists. He stands two goals shy of 200 and 17 points shy of 400. These statistics include all career games including playoffs.
Lizards Exclusive Foam Fingers
The first 1,000 fans in attendance to the Friday, May 8th game will receive a Lizards foam finger. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
The game between the Lizards and Cannons is set to air on the MSG Plus network, with the action slated to start at 7:30 p.m.
