The New York Cosmos are set to make their Brooklyn debut on May 2, as the team will play a regular Season North American Soccer League game against the Ottawa Fury FC at MCU Park.

In the history of the club, the team has been able to find homes at Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium will now have an opportunity to play in front of a crowd in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn has had the chance to host many great sporting events and MCU Park has been a part of that. Thus far the venue has hosted many great events like Professional Wrestling, concerts and is also home to the Brooklyn Cyclones, who are the Class A Short Season affiliate of the New York Mets.

Now MCU Park will have an opportunity to host the legendary Cosmos, who are currently at the top of the North American Soccer League Standings, as the team takes on Ottawa Fury FC .

Some of the players to watch for in the match for the Cosmos are Leo Fernandes who has two goals and Legendary Spanish Striker Raúl González Blanco has a goal.

For Raúl, when he makes his debut in Brooklyn, the longtime Real Madrid star will follow the footsteps of legends legends Ferenc Puskás and Alfredo Di Stéfano, who played a pair of matches at  Ebbets Field with Los Blancos  in July 1959.

There will also be even more history made on May 2 as the New York Cosmos B make their National Premier Soccer League debut against the Brooklyn Italians right after the Cosmos in the first ever soccer doubleheader at MCU Park.

All fans are encouraged to come on out on May 2 to check out the New York Cosmos and New York Cosmos B as both clubs make history in Brooklyn.
