Brooklyn Nets Center Mason Plumlee helped to inspire 45 kids from the New York Police Athletic League Armory Center via the Get The Ball Rolling Clinic that was held at the Barclays Center on Thursday.
Sponsored by Coca-Cola the Get the Ball Rolling initiative promotes living an active and healthy lifestyle.
Plumlee, who has had many doors open to him thanks to his ability to balance athletics and academics has now gone on to find success on the NBA Court. Mason who attended school at Duke University shared his journey to the Pros with the children in attendance, all who are fans and potential stars in their own right.
These kids were on a great track to begin with as the Police Athletic League is a great resource for not only keeping healthy but also making sure these young men and women stay on the right track. Since 1914 the PAL has been serving the youth of New York and has been able to make a huge impact on the lives of many.
Hopefully though days like today will make even more of an impact and show the youth of New York how healthy and active living can play a huge part in going after their dreams.
