The No 10/8 Gonzaga Men’s Basketball team (5-0) held off Georgia (3-2) by a final score of 88-76 to advance to the NIT Championship Game that will be played on Friday at Madison Square Garden.
Forward Kyle Wiltjer (Portland, OR) scored a career-high 32 points to lead the way in the victory. Wiltjer was able to record 16 of his 32 points in the first half in what was an impressive overall night.
Also having a good night on the floor was Guard Kevin Pangos (Holland Landing, Ontario) who added added 22 points, six assists and three steals, along with Guard Byron Wesley (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) who recorded 12 points.
Leading the way for Georgia was Charles Mann who finished with 23 points and five assists.
Gonzaga will now take on St. John’s University in the Championship game of the NIT Season Tip-off Tournament.
