NOTES: New York Lizards v Ohio Machine for June 28, 2014

David Earl to Chesapeake, Lizards acquire Michael Kimmel:

On Monday, the Lizards announced that they had traded midfielder David Earl to Chesapeake in exchange for midfielder Michael Kimmel. Last season with the Bayhawks, Kimmel scored 23 points on seven assists, 12 goals, and four two-point goals.

Lizards wear pink helmets for Susan G Komen Greater NYC:

The Lizards will wear special pink helmets during Saturday’s game as part of Women’s Night. After the game, the game-worn helmets will be autographed and auctioned off online with proceeds benefitting Susan G Komen Greater NYC. The auction will go until Tuesday July 8 at 7 PM.

Pannell has third six point game of the season:

Rob Pannell’s six point performance in Saturday’s game against the Charlotte Hounds marks his third of the season. Pannell previously scored six points on April 27th against the Rochester Rattlers and June 14th at Denver.

New York has first multi-2-point game since July 2013:

Max Seibald’s two 2-point goals in last week’s game against the Hounds was the Lizards first multiple 2-point goal game since July 20, 2013 when the Lizards played at Charlotte. It also marks the first time since July 21, 2012 that a single Lizard’s player scored multiple two-point goals in a game. In 2012, Stephen Peyser had two two-point goals at home against the Hamilton Nationals.

Lizards lead MLL in penalty killing percentage:

Killing 88.89% of their penalties so far this season, the Lizards lead the League in the category, followed most closely by Denver at 76%.

  • –  Goals: Rob Pannell is tied with Stephen Berger (BOS), Casey Powell(FLA), and Logan Schuss (OH)at 6th in the League with 15 goals; Max Seibald is tied with Paul Rabil (BOS), and Will Manny (BOS) for 14th in the League with 12 goals
  • –  Assists: Rob Pannell is 7th in the League with 10 assists
  • –  Shot Percentage: Al Maione is tied with Casey Powell (FLA), JordanWolf (ROC), Thomas DeNapoli (CHA), Brodie Merrill (BOS), and Domenic Sebastiani at 5th in the League, shooting 50% on 12 shots
