Isles Colin McDonald Names to US National Team for 2014 World Championships

USA Hockey announced today that New York Islanders forward Colin McDonald has been selected to the U.S. Men’s National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championships from May 925 in Minsk, Belarus. McDonald joins Islanders teammates Matt Donovan and Brock Nelson on the national squad.

McDonald, 29, scored 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) in 70 games this season with the Islanders. This is the Wethersfield, CT native’s first time representing his country at an international tournament

The Edmonton Oilers selected McDonald in the second round (51st overall) of the 2003 National Hockey League Draft. In 122 career NHL games with Edmonton, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Islanders, McDonald has 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists).
