Islanders v Senators 4/2/14

Here are some notes for the New York Islanders (30-35-10) game versus the Ottawa Senators (32-29-14) in NHL action on Wednesday.


4/1/14: NYI 4 vs. FLA 2
Josh Bailey (1g/1a) and Colin McDonald (2a) each recorded two-point games to lead the Islanders to a 4-2 win over the Florida Panthers Tuesday at Nassau Coliseum. Travis Hamonic, Matt Martin and Mike Halmo also scored for the Islanders, who extended their point streak to five games (4-0-1).
The Islanders look to extend their piont streak to six games tonight, as they play the second game of a three-game season series against the Ottawa Senators. In the first matchup between these clubs this season, the Isles rallied from a pair of two-goal deficits to beat the Sens 5-4 in a shootout.
Road Warriors: The Isles are 13-4-2 in their last 19 road games. The 28 points matches the club record for most points in a stretch of 19 consecutive road games in the same season.
Back-To-Backs: The Islanders complete their 16 set of back-to-back games tonight in Ottawa. They are 7-8-1 on the front-end and 6-7-2 on the back-end of back-to-backs this season. The club will total 17 back-to-back sets in 2013-14.
Last Five: The Isles are 4-0-1 in their last five games. 
Halmo’s First: Mike Halmo scored his first-career goal Tuesday night against the Florida Panthers. 
Josh Bailey will play his 400th career NHL regular season game tonight. Bailey has 170 points (65G, 105A) in 399 career games.
The islanders and Senators game is set to air on the MSG Plus Network, with face-off set for 7:00 p.m.
