Islanders v Sabres 3/15/14

Here are some notes as the New York Islanders (25-34-9) play host to the Buffalo Sabres (19-39-8) in NHL action on Saturday at Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum.

Despite two-point efforts from Anders Lee (1g/1a), Frans Nielsen (1g/1a) and Kyle Okposo (0g/2a), the New York Islanders fell to the San Jose Sharks 4-3 Friday at Nassau Coliseum.

TONIGHT’S MATCHUP

The Islanders continue a four-game home stand tonight against the Buffalo Sabres. It’s the second of three meetings between the teams this season. The Sabres earned a 4-3 shootout win against the Islanders earlier this season on Long Island. The Isles are 5-1-3 in their last nine home games against Buffalo.
