PREVIEW AND VIDEO: St. John’s versus Georgetown

January 4th 2014, it was a day that many members of the 2013-14 St. John’s Men’s Basketball team (16-9, 6-6 BIG EAST) will not forget, the guys did not find their game yet and suffered a 77-60 loss to Georgetown.

Turn the calendar to February 16th and now the Red Storm are playing like a team on a mission, playing like the team that experts had predicted to be the team to beat in the BIG EAST Conference, playing like a team that has found that game.

It was clear after the press conference held on Saturday, that that earlier season loss to Georgetown was a huge wake-up call to the team. Now the St. John’s Men’s Basketball team enters the rematch, winners of seven-of-eight games and four-straight conference games.

Georgetown is coming in on a bit of a hot streak, as the Hoyas earned a four-game winning streak with a 83-71 victory over Providence.

It is a classic BIG EAST Rivalry, which is now 101 games and counting, this one though will be a defining one for the young men at St. John’s who look to continue to make a statement that they are in fact the team to beat in the BIG EAST Conference.
