The New York Islanders and the American Red Cross are partnering for a blood drive at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday, Dec. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. As a special thank you, all presenting donors at this blood drive will receive a voucher for two (2) free tickets to an Islanders regular season home game during the 2013-14 season.
The Red Cross is asking eligible blood donors of all blood types to donate blood during the winter months to strengthen the community’s blood supply. Give something that means something this holiday season by donating blood. Local blood donors are needed all year round to ensure the blood supply stays strong. Approximately every two seconds a patient in the United States needs blood. That’s why your blood donation through the Red Cross is so important.
The Red Cross blood drive will take place in the Lower Box Office of the Coliseum. All presenting donors will also receive a free long-sleeve Red Cross t-shirt and will have the opportunity to enter a grand prize raffle for a luxury suite for ten people at the January 23 Islanders vs. Pittsburgh Penguins game. Walk-ins are welcome, but donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by visiting redcrossblood.org.
