The Islanders conclude their five-game road trip tonight in Phoenix. The Isles are 3-1-1 in their last five games against the Coyotes, including a 6-1 victory at the Coliseum in the opening week of the season. The one Coyote regulation win came in the Isles’ last visit to Phoenix and was capped by Shane Doan’s first career hat trick.

NHL Scoring Race: John Tavares ranks fifth in the NHL scoring race with 36 points (12g/24a). He has a point on seven of the last nine Isles goals and has posted back-to-back multi-point games.

Strome Recalled: The Islanders recalled Ryan Strome from AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday. The 20-year-old leads the AHL in scoring with 33 points (9g/24a) in 23 games. He was named the CCM/AHL Rookie of the Month for November and was also named CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the past two weeks, becoming the third AHL player in the last 20 years to be named Player of the Week in consecutive weeks (Blake Geoffrion, 2011; Jim Carey, 1994).

400: Frans Nielsen is playing in his 400th NHL game – all with the Islanders – tonight. The only player on the roster with more games played in an Islanders uniform is Radek Martinek (476 GP).
