Here are notes for those fans who will be getting ready to watch the New York Lizards (3-8) take on the Rochester Rattlers (4-7) in Major League Lacrosse action on July 27. New York will return back to Shuart Stadium for the last of three regular season games.
Kevin Unterstein to debut as Captain:
Midfielder Kevin Unterstein (Hofstra University) will join Greg Gurenlian and Max Seibald as team captains.
Mock scores four goals in first two games:
In his first two games in the League, Steve Mock has scored a pair of goals in each of his appearances. Currently Mock holds a .500 shot percentage, tied for fourth in the league with teammate Steve Waldeck.
Waldeck tied for 8th in 2-point goals:
Steve Waldeck, who has two 2-point goals so far this season, is currently tied for 8th for most 2-pointers in the League this season. The only defenseman to crack the top ten, Waldeck is also holding a .500 shot percentage.
Pannell tied for 12th highest scorer in the MLL:
Rookie Rob Pannell is currently tied with Peet Poillon and Kevin Cunningham with 29 points so far this season. With the MLL season heading into week 12, Pannell (who has only played in seven games so far) sits among some of the top scorers in the league.
Gurenlian continues to be a beast in the face-off X:
Greg Gurenlian continues to be a beast in the face-off x for New York, as he continues to reign as the leading face-off guy in the league. Gurenlian, who is 174-278 so far this season, is averaging 62.6% at the X.

Denver – Currently in 1st place, clinched no worse than a 2nd seed, can clinch the #1 seed with a win OR a loss by Hamilton
Hamilton – Currently in 2nd place, can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Boston on Saturday OR a loss by Charlotte
Chesapeake – Currently in 3rd place, can clinch a playoff spot with a win AND a loss by either Boston or Charlotte
Boston – Currently in 4th place, cannot clinch or be eliminated this week
Charlotte – Currently in 5th place, cannot clinch or be eliminated this week
Rochester – Currently in 6th place, cannot clinch or be eliminated this week
New York – Currently in 7th place, eliminated with a loss OR a win by Boston OR Charlotte
Ohio – Currently in 8th place, already eliminated from the playoffs, can clinch the worst record with a loss and a New York win
