Here are some notes for those fans who will be watching the New York Lizards (3-6) who are on the road to take on the Charlotte Hounds (4-6) in Major League Lacrosse action on 7/20.
Lizards look to avoid the sweep against Charlotte:
New York will look to avenge the early season loss against the Hounds as Charlotte took the 14-12 victory on May 31. In 2012 the Lizards were able to beat the Hounds in both contests.
Mock scores two goals in MLL debut:
Cornell alum and rookie Steve Mock scored two goals in his Lizards and MLL debut against the Denver Outlaw on July 4.
Peyser moves up the Lizards record book:
Steve Peyser moved up to the number five spot on the New York Lizards all-time goals list. Peyser surpassed Chris Massey with 95 career goals as a Lizard.
Pannell tied for 16th highest scorer in the League:
Heading into Week 11, rookie Rob Pannell is currently tied with Mike Stone and Ned Crotty with 24 points thus far this season. Of the top 25 scorers in the League, Panel has played in only six games, the second fewest of any top 25 players.
Gurenlian continues to be a Beast in the face-off X:
Greg Gurenlian continues to dominate in the face-off x, going 157-256 so far this season is averaging 62.3% at the X, which ranks as top in the League.
Lizards that Impressed at the All-Star Game:
Five Lizards players traveled to Charlotte for the All-Star game last week. Gurenlian went 14-32 at the face-off X, adding one goal and one assist. Rookie Rob Pannell scored three goals and added an assist on 11 shots. Tommy Palasek scored two goals, and Brian Karalunas recorded 10 ground balls. Drew Adams started for his team named Eclipse and had 11 saves in the 31 minutes he spent in the crease.

Boston – Cannot clinch or be eliminated
Charlotte – Cannot clinch or be eliminated
Chesapeake – Cannot clinch or be eliminated
Denver – Has already clinched and can clinch no worse than the #2 seed with a win. Can clinch the #1 seed with a win AND a Hamilton loss
Hamilton – Can clinch a playoff spot with a win AND a Charlotte loss AND a Rochester loss
New York – Cannot clinch or be eliminated
Ohio- Eliminated with a loss OR a Boston win
Rochester – Cannot clinch or be eliminated
The Lizards and the Hounds game will be aired on the ESPN 2 network, with face-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
