Fans will be rewarded with Mets tickets and experience based on the number of volunteer projects completed. New York Cares will coordinate the projects, which must be completed from today until September 1, 2013. The breakdown is as follows:

·         Home Run – complete between three and five projects and receive four tickets to a Mets game in September

·         Grand Slam – complete between six and eight projects and receive four tickets to a game in September and scoreboard recognition

·         Perfect Game – complete at least nine projects and receive four tickets to a game in September, scoreboard recognition and participate in a pre-game ceremony on the field

“Teaming up with New York Cares, the city’s largest volunteer organization, ensures that our fans will have a wide selection of projects to choose from that will help communities throughout our hometown,” said Jeff Wilpon, Mets Chief Operating Officer.

“The New York Cares mission is to meet pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service, and it is with deep appreciation that I count the New York Mets and their fans as partners and participants in that mission,” said Gary Bagley, Executive Director of New York Cares. “This partnership will enhance our capacity to provide volunteer assistance to communities and agencies that need our support, both here in the Rockaways and throughout the five boroughs.”

New York Cares is the City’s largest volunteer organization, running over 1,300 non-profit public schools and city agencies to help people in need throughout the five boroughs.
