Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Game Seven: Rangers v. Capitals 5/13

Here are some notes for those fans who are getting ready to watch Game 7 of the Eastern Quarterfinals between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals, held in Washington, D.C.  Things are currently tied at three games apiece in this thrilling series between these two rivals.

The Rangers come into tonight’s contest after earning a Game 6 1-0 victory on Sunday. Derek Brassard tallied the game’s only goal at 9:39 of the second period. That combined with the play of Henrik Lundqvist, who made 27 saves for his seventh playoff shutout helped the Blueshirts force this Game 7.

  • The Rangers have won eight of their last 11 first round playoff series.

New York has been able to come back from a 3-2 series deficit to advance in the playoffs twice before- in the 2012 Conference Quarterfinals against Ottawa and in the 1994 Conference Finals against New Jersey.

Game 7 between the Rangers and the Capitals is set to air on the NBCSN and MSG Networks, with face-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
