Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Game Five: Islanders v. Penguins 5/9

Here are some notes for those fans that are getting ready to watch the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Game Five match-up between the New York Islanders and the Pittsburgh Penguins, held in Pittsburgh, PA tonight.

This thrilling series is all tied up at 2 games for each team, with the Isles winning in Game Four in an instant Classic at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. John Tavares’ goal midway through the third period snapped a 4-4 tie, and Casey Cizikas scored to cap off a three-goal third period for New York.

New York went the entire 2012-13 season without dropping consecutive road games in regulation, while having a 14-6-4 record on the road. The Islanders set a franchise mark for best road winning percentage in the history of the team, and will look to continue their success on the road.

The Islanders hold an all-time playoff record of 13-10 against the Penguins and hold an all-time scoring mark of 81-75 against Pittsburgh.

Game Five between the Islanders and Penguins is set to air on the NBCSN and MSG Plus networks, with face-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
