Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the New York Rangers (21-17-4) who are playing host to the Florida Panthers (13-23-6) in NHL action tonight at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers currently rank third in the Atlantic Division standings and eighth in the Eastern Conference, enter into tonight’s game with a 5-2-1 record in their last eight games.

Rangers Recap:

It was a back-and-forth game but the Rangers fell to the Philadelphia Flyers by the score of 4-2 in NHL action on 4/16. Netting goals for the Blueshirts was Mats Zuccarello and Derek Stephan.

Back-to-Backs:

New York will begin their sixth and final back-to-back set this season against Florida. New York has a combined record for 5-4-1 in back-to-back games, including a 3-1-1 (2-0-0 at home; 1-1-1 on the road) in the first game and 2-3-0 (0-2-0 at home; 2-1-0 on the road) mark in the second.

Henrik Lundqvist has allowed two or fewer goals in 12 of his last 14 games (8-4-2, 1.76 GAA, .935 Sv%, 1 shutout over the span).

Ryan Callahan has six points (two goals, four assists) in the last eight games.

The Rangers and the Panthers game is set to air on the MSG Network, with the face-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
