The New York Liberty Head Coach and General Manager Bill Laimbeer announced on Monday that the franchise has acquired a 2013 third round pick (25th overall) from the Washington Mystics in exchange for the rights to forward Quanitra Hollingsworth.
Those fans interested in checking out the draft can do so tonight at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN 2. It is expected for Baylor’s Brittney Griner, Skylar Diggins of Notre Dame and Elena Delle Done to be in the top three of the 2013 Class this season.
Fans of the New York Women’s Basketball scene should keep an eye out for Hofstra University Shante Evans and St. John’s University Nadirah McKenith and Shenneika Smith.
New York now has five picks in the 2013 WNBA Draft, which is more than any other team and the most for the team since 2013. The Liberty hold two first round selections at fifth and seventh overall, as well as one in the second round (at 15th) and two in the third round (25 and 27th).
Players that New York can acquire with their fifth round pick are Tianna Hawkins, who is a forward out of Maryland, Taylor Hill who is a guard from Ohio State, Kelly Faris who is a guard at UCONN an dAlex Bentley who is a guard from Penn State.
According to draftsite.com the Liberty could select Tianna Hawkins (Maryland) with their fifth pick and Kayla Alexander who is a Center from Syracuse with their seventh pick.

Hollingsworth, who is a three-year veteran of the WNBA spent the first two seasons with the Minnesota Lynx and one year with the Liberty in 2011. She averaged 3.9 points and 3.2 rebounds-per-game during the regular season and 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in one career playoff series with New York.
