Nets vs. Wizards 4/15/13

Here are some notes for those fans who are getting ready to watch the Brooklyn Nets (47-33) play host to the Washington Wizards (29-51) in NBA action at the Barclays Center.

If the Nets win it would clinch the season series with Washington (3-1), which would be the ninth season series Brooklyn has won against the Eastern Conference this season. It also give them a 30-5 mark against opponents with a record below .500 at the time played.

A victory tonight would give them their 48th win of the season, which would be the most since the ’05-’06 season when they finished with 49.

Nets Recap:

The Nets trailed by as many as 21 points in their 93-87 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Leading the way on the offense was Brook Lopez who scored 16 points and Andray Blatche who scored a bench-high 15. Reggie Evans had another big rebounding game with 16 boards.

Nets Notes:

When the Nets host the first game of the 2013 Eastern Conference playoff series, it will be the first postseason game in Brooklyn since October 10, 1956 when 33,782 people at Ebbets Field watched the Dodgers fall to the New York Yankees in Game 7 of the 1956 World Series.

All Nets fans are encouraged to wear black during the first game, as a way to support the team. The color Black will represent Brooklyn’s pride, boldness and strength.

All-Time agains the Wizards:

Brooklyn holds a 81-85 overall record against the Wizards, with the biggest victory at home coming on 3/18/13, which was a 95-78 decision. The Nets currently hold a 2-1 series edge this year against the Wizards, with the last victory happening on 1/4/13, which was a 115-113 overtime thriller.

The Nets and the Wizards game is set to air on the YES Network, with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m.
