Knicks vs. Bobcats 4/15/13

Here are some notes for those fans who are getting ready to watch the New York Knicks (53-27) who are on the road to take on the Charlotte Bobcats (19-61) in NBA action tonight.

This will be the final of three meetings between these two teams, with New York holding a 2-0 season series edge. The Knicks will be looking to sweep the season series with the Charlotte Bobcats for the first time. New York will be also looking to extend a five-game winning streak against the Bobcats.

Melo Mania:

Carmelo Anthony recorded a team-high 25 points and five rebounds in over 30 minutes in the Knicks April 14th victory over Indiana. This was Anthony’s 54th time this season leading the team in scoring and his 60th time reaching the 20-point mark.

2 Seed:

New York clinched the second seed overall in the Eastern Conference. This is the highest the Knicks have been seeded since the ’93-’94 season, when they were the number two seed.

Super Smith:

JR Smith is first in the NBA in scoring among players coming off the bench at 18.1 ppg (min 10 games). Smith leads the NBA in scoring among players coming off the bench in 30-point (7) and 20-point games (29) this season.

This Date in Knicks History:

1988: Mark Jackson records a triple-double, scoring 25 points and recording 10 rebounds and 10 assists in 106-97 loss versus the Washington Bullets.

The Knicks and Bobcats game is set to air on the MSG network, and tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
