Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the New York Rangers (17-15-3) play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins (28-9-0) in NHL action tonight at Madison Square Garden.

New York currently ranks fourth in the Atlantic Division standings and ninth in the Eastern Conference, the guys have been able to record a point in six of their last eight home games (5-2-1).

Rangers Recap:

Ryan Callahan tallied four points (one goal, three assists), while Derek Stephan notched two goals to help lead the Rangers to a 4-2 victory on Monday.  In the cage Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves.

Tying a legend:

With his 26 saves on Monday Lundqvist was able to record his 267th career victory, which moves him into a tie with Ed Giacomin for second on the Blueshirts’ all-time keeper victory list.

Rangers with the Hot Stick:

Henrik Lundqvist has held opponents to three goals or fewer in each of his last 15 games (8-6-1, 1.98 GAA, .929 Sv.%)

Rick Nash has 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists) in his last 21 games

Derek Stephan has tallied a point in 12 of his last 17 games (nine goals, nine assists over the span)

Brad Richards has four points (one goal, three assists) in the last five games

Michael Del Zotto has five points (one goal, four assists) in the last seven games.

Carl Hagelin – one game from 100th NHL career

Derek Stephan – one game from 200th NHL career

Anton Stralman -two points from 100th NHL career

The Rangers and Penguins game is set to air on the NBC Sports network, with face-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
